Girls Helping Girls was recently awarded fiscal sponsorship from and thus is now a project of One World Children Fund, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that partners with grassroots organizations around the world that serve vulnerable children and their care givers. Why do we need money and how will we use it?
GHG believes in a holistic education for all girls and therefore actively fundraises to send supplies and educational materials to its international locations. It is critical that the girls possess books, computers, school infrastructural materials and school supplies, and sometimes scholarships for the most deserving, to pursue their education and thus be more empowered to create social change. GHG aims to give them this power by fundraising to send those needed supplies. We have a list of materials and education costs for each of our locations. Right now, we are working in India, Turkey, Sri Lanka, and several locations in Africa. Donors can designate if they would like to donate to a specific location or else we will use our own discretion based upon our sites' needs.
To give you an idea of how far one contribution can travel, we have included on the website this brief list of items and their costs. If you would like to donate specific items or have any other questions about how we use our funds or how much one year's education or books or supplies cost, please email

$8500 will fund the building of a library and required infrastructure
$500 can help provide a nutritious lunch program for the girls
$450 can provide 1000 books to the girls
$150 can sponsor one girl's education for one year in India
$50 can sponsor one girl's education for one year in Africa
$25 can help purchase classroom supplies, like notebooks and pencils

Monthly Recurring Donations via Credit Card
Through the same link as shown above, donors may also have the choice of contributing monthly donations to GHG through an automatic charge to their credit cards. An option should be present on the form asking whether or not the donor would wish to choose this option.

All donations must be addressed to One World Children's Fund, but
must specify either also within the 'Payee' field or in the 'For' or 'Memo' field that the funds are to support Girls Helping Girls. Receipts may be requested for donations below $250 as any donations over this amount will automatically recieve receipts in return. Any receipt request, however, must be sure to include name, address, and some contact information for One World Children's Fund.
Donate frequent flyer miles as well!
Girls Helping Girls representatives travel to school locations around the world to help facilitate cultural exchange and train girls overseas in leadership skills. Frequent flyer miles would help defray some of the considerable expense associated with this travel.
